BJJ belt colours, fit and sizing
Choose your rank colour
Start with the adult or kids’ range, then choose the colour awarded by your coach. Children’s ranks use a different colour system from adult belts. If you are buying for a promotion or as a gift, confirm the colour with the academy first.
Find the right length
Use a belt that already ties comfortably over your gi as a guide, measuring it flat from end to end. Compare that length with the new belt’s size chart. This is more reliable than choosing solely by your gi size, especially when moving between brands or adult and kids’ ranges.
A firm feel that softens with wear
Our BJJ belts have eight rows of reinforced stitching. A new belt can feel firm at first and becomes softer with training and use. Choose a length that leaves enough room to tie securely over your gi jacket.
